WAP Response to COVID-19

Efforts To Protect Our Clients

Notice of Washington Appellate Project operations during the Covid-19 State of Emergency

The Washington Appellate Project law offices are currently closed, consistent with Governor Inslee’s Stay Home proclamation of March 18, 2020.
A limited number of personnel continue to be present in the office as necessary to ensure the smooth flow of operations.

The Washington Appellate Project is committed to ensuring the safety of our employees and community while continuing to meet our obligations to our clients.

Our attorneys and staff continue to do our work remotely. We remain diligent in our efforts to serve our clients.

The best means to contact us during this time is by leaving a voice mail message for your attorney or in our general voice mail box. We are checking for messages several times per day. You may also send us a letter or send your attorney an email. We continue to check for important correspondence from our clients and will respond as soon as possible.

Washington Appellate Project attorneys are working with local defenders, advocacy groups, prosecutors, and courts to seek the release of our clients who are particularity vulnerable to the coronavirus. We are also working to extend the time our clients will have to file petitions for review and personal restraint petitions. As this crisis evolves, we will continue to advocate for the fair and just treatment of our clients.

Please know that our thoughts are with our clients during this stressful time.
