(June 6, 2020) – The Washington Appellate Project condemns the enduring violence against Black people in our country and our state. Almost ten years ago a task force found that “racial iniquities permeate Washington’s criminal justice system,” and it echoed Martin Luther King, Jr.’s admonition that “silence is betrayal.” We will not be silent. Systemic discrimination still infects every aspect of our society. We commit to continuing our work dismantling racially biased laws and providing equal access to justice for each and every client.
